St. John Bosco Students Win First in AMVETS National Americanism Contest

On Sept. 7, two St. John Bosco students were recognized for winning first place in the AMVETS National Americanism Contest. Students from all over Wisconsin who attend public, private, parochial, Sunday and home schools were able to participate in the contest. Submissions were submitted in March of 2016. At the St. John Bosco school mass on Sept. 7, Robert Gamble, of local AMVETS Weber-Tess Post 51 of Sturgeon Bay, presented First Place winners Anna Estes (Grade 6), and Jack Konop (Grade 4) with a cash award and an American flag. Aaron Tomaszewski (Grade 3) and Danica Neville (Grade 5) earned Honorable Mention Certifications of Participation at the state level.
