Stage Door Theatre Company Presents First Play, “The Subject Was Roses”

The first play by Third Avenue Playhouse’s (TAP) new theatre company, Stage Door Theatre Company, will be the Pulitzer Prize winning comedy/drama The Subject Was Roses by Frank D. Gilroy. This is a play about the relationships between a husband, wife and their young adult son at the end of World War II.

The cast includes Mark Moede, Ryan Patrick Shaw, and Dale Finn. Moede is well known to Door County theatre audiences for his roles at Door Shakespeare, Isadoora Theatre Company, American Folklore Theatre and TAP.

Finn is a visiting actor from Hamden, Connecticut where she is a professor at the University of New Haven.

Shaw is a recent graduate of the theatre program at the University of Wisconsin – Parkside. The last two summers he has taken roles with Door Shakespeare. He spent last year working with the Children’s Theatre in Minneapolis.

The play is scheduled for June 21 and is directed by TAP’s Artistic Director Robert Boles.
