Stage Door Theatre Company Welcomes Sossy Mechanics, Artists-in-Residence

Megan McClellan and Brian Sostek of Sossy Mechanics will lead workshops as part of their residency.

Stage Door Theatre Company will host their first artist-in-residence program, Sossy Mechanics, on May 17 – 27. The duo of Megan McClellan and Brian Sostek comprise Sossy Mechanics will teach workshops and perform their hit show, direct from the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, Trick Boxing.

In Trick Boxing, Dancing Danny trains for boxing matches and meets a dancer named Bella. This physical comedy is told through rapid-fire dialogue, high-energy dance numbers, ridiculous puppetry, true love, and boxing.

Performances are set for May 17 – 19 and May 24 – 26. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 pm, and Sunday performances are at 2 pm.

Tickets are $22/general admission, $10/students (12 – 24), and $5/child (11 & younger).

In conjunction with Third Avenue Playhouse’s StageKids theatre program, the Sossy Mechanics team will direct AlieNation – an original theatre piece. Auditions, open to all Door County students ages 6 – 18, will be May 2 at 5 pm, and May 5 at 2 pm.

AlieNation will be performed May 25 at 2 pm. Tickets are $10/general admission and $5/child (11 & younger).
