StageKids Introduces Its First Film Lab

This fall from Oct. 8 – Nov. 15, TAP’s StageKids program will be having its first Film Lab. During this lab, students will work with instructor Spencer Milligan to create original film projects. They will also work on scenes from other famous movies. This program is meant for middle and high school students.

During this lab, students will have the opportunity to act, write, direct and operate the camera. Lab students will meet twice a week for six weeks. Wednesday labs will be from 4 – 7 pm and Saturday labs will be from 11 am – 4 pm. Students will meet at TAP.

Tuition for the lab is $125 and there are scholarships available. To register call 920.743.1760 or email [email protected].

Auditions will be held Oct. 13 and 20 for the StageKids Christmas show The Elves and the Shoemaker. This timeless fairy tale tells the story of a shoemaker and his wife who are struggling to make a living with the help of a few friendly elves.

Parts are available for students in kindergarten through high school. Adults are also welcomed and encouraged to audition. There are several speaking roles as well as chorus singing roles.

Auditions will be held 4 pm – 7 pm. No prepared material is needed for the audition, but they will need a list of conflicts from Oct. 23 – Dec. 6. Performances will be Dec. 5 and 6 on TAP’s main stage.

On Sept. 26 from 6 – 10 pm, the Third Avenue Playhouse will hold its Fantastick Fundraiser at Stone Harbor Resort. There will be food, entertainment and a silent auction with items donated from throughout Door County and beyond. The cost is $40 per person or $70 per couple. For reservations call 920.743.1760 or visit eventbrite.com and search for “Fantastick Fundraiser.”
