Stan Walsh Presents A European Trek for Travel Film Series

On Nov. 8, the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs of Northern Door present the third travel adventure film in their 2013-2014 season. This European trek begins in Rome, Italy with inspiring stops in Assisi, Florence, Pisa and Venice followed by a visit to picturesque Lucerne, Switzerland. The journey concludes with passage to Germany and stops in Munich and the village of Oberammergau, in the hills of Bavaria.

The film will be presented live and in person by veteran filmmaker Stan Walsh, known for his painstaking research and imaginative camera work. A native of New Jersey, Walsh’s youthful explorations included observing giant Zeppelins soaring over the Atlantic shore.

Upon graduation, he moved his family to Italy where he produced his first travelogue, Tuscany – Italy’s Golden Province. Later, he was presented with the Seven League Boots award for his in-depth photojournalism on TV’s Golden Voyage series.

The screening is set for 7:30 pm at First Baptist Church in Sister Bay. Tickets are $7 or $36 for a season pass (for all six shows in the travel film series); children 18 years old and younger are free. For more information, contact Gary, 920.854.4825, or Larry, 920.839.9419.
