The 2020 Steel Bridge Songfest – heading into its 16th year – is going virtual June 12 and 13 at 7:30 pm each day.
The festival was founded in 2005 to benefit the preservation of Sturgeon Bay’s Michigan Street Bridge. Now the weeklong event centers around a focused writing and recording collaboration called Construction Zone, which culminates in a series of concerts celebrating the new songs, the artists who created them and the community where they were written.
For the health and safety of the writers and concertgoers, however, this year the whole Songfest event will be held online. The weekend concerts that are normally held at the Third Avenue Playhouse in Sturgeon Bay will be recreated on Facebook Live. Tune in to hear the new songs written this year, tributes to epic songs from the Songfest’s 15-year discography and special performances by Construction Zone writers past and present – all hosted live by musicians from around the country.
