Stephanie Trenchard Featured in Santa Fe Gallery

“San Angel Union Altar,” assembled sand cast glass with sculpted and painted inclusions, by Stephanie Trenchard.

The work of Sturgeon Bay artist Stephanie Trenchard will be displayed at the Jane Sauer Gallery in Santa Fe from July 20 – August 14. This is Trenchard’s first solo show with the gallery, and is titled “Narratives in Glass.”

This exhibition focuses on the creative process as it relates to the artist’s family, with special attention to Frieda Kahlo and Diego Rivera, and also the American painter Alice Neel.

Trenchard creates architectural vignettes using a glass casting process. Hand sculpted and painted glass objects are cast within solid blocks that fit together to tell colorful biographical stories.
