Steven Wente to Perform Organ Concert at Shepherd of the Bay

Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church will present – and Steven Wente will perform – the church’s last organ concert of the summer Sept. 21, 7 pm. The program will include works by J.S. Bach, Dietrich Buxtehude, Joel Martinson, Felix Mendelssohn and more. A reception will follow the concert.

Steven Wente is a distinguished professor of music at Concordia University Chicago, where he teaches courses in organ and music history and serves as chapel organist. He has performed at hymn festivals and recitals throughout the United States and in Germany. Wente has written about the organ in early Lutheranism and the music of Bach.
