STRIDE, a school-based mental-health project that is a strategic partner of United Way of Door County, has received a $4,000 sustainability grant from the Door County Community Foundation.
The project provides one-to-one counseling for Door County youth at each public school; students are referred by a teacher or school counselor. At this time, STRIDE is able to provide the counseling service to only a limited number of children, but its goal continues to be expanding the program. The Community Foundation funds will partially offset annual costs for counseling during this school year. To learn more about STRIDE, call the United Way of Door County at 920.746.9645.
