Striver Gymnasts Strive for Perfection

The YMCA Striver Gymnastics Team competed this past weekend in the Green Bay YMCA Invitational Meet, sending gymnasts at seven levels. Within those levels, gymnasts are awarded by age. Team trophies go to the top 30 percent of teams competing. Nikki Pollman, Amy Gamble, Gerritt DeJonge, Heather Haese, Libby Pieczynski, Mikki Rankin and MaKiala McCambridge coach the team.

The following medals were awarded:

Level 1

• Team trophy: second place 

• Estelle Duerst: first in all-around (AA); second in beam, vault and bars; fifth in floor

• Megan Quarderer: third in beam and vault; fourth in AA

• Shalyn Asher: third in floor

Level 4

• Sophia Sternard: first in vault, beam and floor; second in AA

Level 6

• Laci Lautenbach: first in floor

Level 7

• MaKiala McCambridge: third in vault

Level 8

• Miya Eliyha: second in beam

Excel Silver

• Savannah Guilette: first in floor; fourth in AA

• Shylee Asher: first in bars; second in floor and beam; third in AA

• Jozlynn Burlo: third in floor; fourth in bars, beam and AA

• Madison Voight: first in floor

• Alexa Jimenez-Seyfer: fourth in floor; fifth in beam

Excel Gold

• Team Trophy: first place

• Abby DeClark: first in AA, vault and floor; fourth in bars; fifth in beam

• Amira Anschutz: second in AA and floor; fourth in bars and beam; fifth in vault

• Lauren Pratt: first in bars; second in beam; third in AA 

• Eliana Kersher: second in bars and floor; third in AA; fifth in vault

• Anna Iberra: second in floor and vault; third in bars; fourth in AA

• Abu Tooley: first in beam; fourth in AA

• Taylor Newton: sixth in floor
