Students Harvest Research Station Gardens

Ninety-two fourth graders from Sunrise and St. John Bosco schools will harvest their six plots at the UW-Extension Peninsular Research Station on September 29.

The kids will be divided into four groups and four stations, where they will dig potatoes, carrots, beets, turnips, and more. They will harvest tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and the Three Sisters (corn, beans, and squash). Giant Pumpkins will be measured and comparisons made.

Students will receive tote bags to carry their crops home and get hands-on experience with pioneer tools borrowed from the farm.
