The students were awarded the scholarships, as well as a travel grant from ArtBeet, a non-profit organization that supports and promotes the arts in Kewaunee County, at a conference in Washington DC in April.

The students who received the scholarships include Melanie Croke of Fish Creek, David Kapszukiewicz of Appleton, Mae Swagel of Kewaunee, Mara Pionek of Green Bay, Suzanne Barnes of De Pere, and Scott Gigstead of Algoma.

While attending the conference, students participated in workshops and demonstrations conducted by internationally acclaimed artists. The students will share their experiences at an ArtBeet’s monthly meeting on Monday, June 14 at 7 pm. The presentation, open to the public, will be held at Barnsite, 109 Duvall Street, Kewaunee.
