Students Present “LEAP” at Southern Door Community Auditorium

Ministry Door County Medical Center (MDCMC) and a select group of 40 Door County high school students are proud to present “LEAP – The Human Kindness Project” on April 17 at 7 pm at the Southern Door Community Auditorium.

LEAP is an acronym that means “learning to empower and appreciate all people.” The theme was inspired by Terry Lundahl, who worked for HELP of Door County and taught “Violence Free Relationships for Teens” in the Door County schools. LEAP expands on that violence-free message and challenges prevailing attitudes toward acceptance and social injustice. The performance is dedicated to encouraging positive thinking, passion, and personal growth through movement and the art of dance, spoken word, songs, visual arts and multimedia imagery.

“We are proud to present our first season of ‘LEAP – The Human Kindness Project’ with innovative dance, singers/songwriters, multimedia imagery and spoken word performances that expand on our message,” says producer Lundahl. “The young artists of LEAP began this journey in early 2015 with a strong desire to be a generation to create change by speaking out against bullying, a subject that hits close to home for many of the performers and teens from Door County.”

Tickets are $12 for adults and free for all students. Tickets are available at southerndoorauditorium.org.
