Sturgeon Bay Area Community Thanksgiving Dinner

For the sake of safety, the long-standing community Thanksgiving dinner sponsored by the Sturgeon Bay United Methodist Church will be held as a carryout event this year. The delicious, home-cooked meal will include turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, squash, corn and an individual apple or cherry pie.

To reserve a dinner, please call the church office at 920.743.3241 by Nov. 23. No additional reservations will be accepted after that date. Carryout meals can be picked up at the church, 836 Michigan St., between 2 pm and 5 pm on Thanksgiving Day. Cars should enter and exit at the 9th Street entrance and follow the arrows to the canopy, where a volunteer will place the meals in the back seat or trunk of the vehicle.

Deliveries will be made to individuals who are homebound after 3 pm on Thanksgiving Day. These individuals should place a TV tray or chair outside their door so drivers have a place to put the meal, and the drivers will call to say the meal has been delivered.

“Despite current limitations,” said the organizers, “we are grateful for this opportunity to bring some holiday joy into the lives of many residents in our area. We look forward to seeing you – at a safe distance – on Thanksgiving Day.”
