Sturgeon Bay Art Crawl Announces 2018 Doerr Prize Winner

The Sturgeon Bay Art Crawl, having just completed its 12th year with its largest crawl yet, announces that Tom Prohl has won the 2018 Doerr Prize. Drawn from nearly 1,000 entries, Prohl, a resident of Egg Harbor since 2010, is the recipient of an exquisite bread/cheese board created by Michael Doerr, master wood craftsman and furniture maker.

Doerr is one of the 22 artists who participated in this year’s event, which gives the public the opportunity to visit 20 studios to meet, mingle and marvel at the nationally celebrated talent on display in a variety of media, including painting, glass art, woodworking, pottery and, for the first time, music.

The art crawl lasts three days and occurs annually on the weekend just prior to Thanksgiving. The public is invited to attend, and art crawl members generously give a portion of their sale proceeds to emerging young artists.
