Sturgeon Bay Celebrates the Holidays

Saturday, December 6 the Christmas by the Bay parade will take place in Sturgeon Bay, featuring the UW Badger Band group as well as a variety of floats, walkers, and of course, Santa. All interested parties are welcome to join the parade, from musical performers to walkers, decorated floats to decorated vehicles, oversized trucks to simple bikes.

The parade line up will start at Sawyer Park at 9:15 am and begin at 10 am, traveling across the new Oregon Street Bridge, down Third Avenue to Jefferson Street and Sixth Avenue with a 5th Quarter performance at Market Square.

The Door County Visitor Bureau will award a $250 check and trophy for the best Door County business entry and several additional prizes will be distributed by the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center. Advance registration would be appreciated. Please call 920.743.6246 to register.

Additional activities taking place December 6 include visits with Santa at the Door County Historical Museum, tours of the Oregon Street Bridge Tenders House, hay wagon rides, a Christmas coloring contest at Bridgeport Resort, the Door CANcer Holiday House walk, and the annual Angel Ball in the evening.

Sunday, December 7, from 9:30 am – noon, Santa will be at Stone Harbor for breakfast and the Bed & Breakfast Christmas walk will take place from 1:30 – 5:30 pm.

Santa will be making another appearance in Sturgeon Bay on Saturday, December 13 at the Door County Maritime Museum and will arrive by boat to visit children on the tug John Purves from 11 am – 2 pm. A pre-school tug video will be featured; cider and cookies will be served.
