Sturgeon Bay CNA Earns $10,000 Scholarship

On March 21, Unity Hospice presented Megan Scoon, a certified nursing assistant (CNA) from Sturgeon Bay, with the $10,000 Red-D-Mix Concrete Sponsorship of the Florence Kowalkowski, RN Scholarship.

“I am sincerely honored and grateful for this scholarship, which is providing me with the finances to follow my dreams,” Scoon said. “This is life changing. I wouldn’t be able to pursue a degree in nursing and become a registered nurse without it. I have an amazing support system throughout my Unity family and personal family.”

Scoon joined Unity as a CNA in July 2021 following housekeeping work at Golden Living–Dorchester, where she quickly discovered her passion for interacting with residents. She will pursue her nursing degree at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Sturgeon Bay beginning this fall.
