Sturgeon Bay Extends Emergency Declaration

The Sturgeon Bay Common Council voted to extend its emergency declaration for another 30 days. The council first declared an emergency in response to COVID-19 on March 19. The emergency declaration allows the city “to use all possible resources and means to protect the health, safety and welfare of residents from the threat posed by the continued spread of COVID-19,” according to the resolution. The move also maintains the city’s eligibility for federal and state cost reimbursements, addresses workers’ compensation concerns and establishes liability protections.
