Sturgeon Bay Farm and Craft Market “Vendor of the Week”

Kris Berns is one of our market’s longest standing vendors. She has been in business for approximately 34 years and has been attending the Sturgeon Bay Farm and Craft Market for over 30 years!

Berns makes clay Christmas ornaments and hand painted cherry décor. One of her favorite things about the market is seeing all the people that frequent the market and many of the repeat customers from when she first started who have become friends over the years.

Berns is probably most well known for her Christmas ornaments – many of us may already have one on our own tree or given one as a gift. Her Christmas ornaments are handcrafted of clay then she paints them with acrylic paints. Many of the ornaments are made to characterize people and some of the themes include sports, babies and occupations. She can even personalize your ornament right at the market.

Being born and raised in “Cherryland” she also enjoys painting cherries on glassware or ceramic pieces. She said she loves the beautiful county she lives in and enjoys sharing it with our visitors.

If you aren’t able to visit Berns at the Sturgeon Bay Farm and Craft Market on Saturday mornings, you can also find her items at Brick Alley in Sturgeon Bay or Lautenbach’s Orchard Country Winery & Market in Fish Creek.
