Sturgeon Bay High School to Perform “Godspell”

Sturgeon Bay High School will perform Godspell at high school auditorium on Feb. 9 & 10 at 7 pm and Feb. 11 at 2 pm.

Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden), and it took the world by storm. The main story of Godspell is portrayed in the way the players interact with their leader, coming together to create a loving community to re-enact the life of Jesus. The ensemble of actors acts out different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing, along with an eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from rock, to gospel to vaudeville. As the story of Jesus’ life moves across the stage, his messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.

The ensemble cast includes Kekoa Bicoy, Nalani Bicoy, Levi Brunette, Alexis Daoust, Sydney Felhofer, Brant Grahl, Moriah Grahl, Kole Mallien, Kaylee Mills, Izaac Polechek, Maddie Schopf, Paige Sullivan and Isabel Vreeke. Godspell is music directed by Justin Ranek, with Leslie Hill serving as assistant musical director; stage direction by Bill Bauernfeind, and choreography by Moriah Grahl.
