Sturgeon Bay High Schooler Suspended for Allegedly Creating a Hit List

A Sturgeon Bay High School student was suspended last Friday for allegedly creating a post-note titled “Hit List” with several students’ names on it. A faculty member discovered the note and took it to school administration and law enforcement. School staff and law enforcement worked together to identify the student they believed had created the list and suspended the student for the remainder of the school year.

Students who were listed, along with their families, were notified.

“While we do not believe there is any threat to our students or staff in this situation, we encourage you to talk to your child about the importance of reporting any concerning behavior or information that they hear or see,” wrote Principal Keith Nerby in a letter to families. “We ask that you also encourage your child to speak with a counselor or administrator if they feel uneasy or have any concerns.”
