Sturgeon Bay Hosts 11th Annual Sturgeon Bay Fine Art Fair

Masterpieces, music and murals will be the order of the day as the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center (SBVC) presents the 11th annual Fine Art Fair, May 23 and 24 from 10 am – 4 pm each day at Sunset Park, located at the corner of Third Avenue and Florida Street.

The Sturgeon Bay Fine Art Fair is part of Door County’s month-long “Festival of Blossoms.” The juried art show features original works of nearly 100 Wisconsin and Midwest artists in a variety of media including sculpture, painting, jewelry, ceramics, fiber and photography. The artists this year include some that have been with the event each year as well as many first time exhibitors; all artwork is for sale.

Entertainment is also scheduled throughout both days, including strolling entertainers Dan Ognavic and TC Hatter. Children’s activities include painting the 50 foot mural, creating wearable art at the t-shirt painting station, and designing one of a kind paper hats. A variety of food items and beverages will be available all weekend. The very popular “artworks raffle” will again be part of the activities and will feature a large selection of items from art fair participants. A new feature this year is the official Art-t-Shirt designed by Jamie Janda, a 7th grade student at Gibraltar School as a project to celebrate Youth Art Month.
