Sturgeon Bay Hosts Christmas By the Bay

Sturgeon Bay’s holiday season will kick-off with Christmas by the Bay, taking place from Nov. 19 – 21. The festivities will begin with the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday at 7 pm at the Clock Tower on Third Avenue. The evening will feature entertainers Michael Ray and Ben Larsen, along will hay wagon rides from 6 – 8 pm.

On Saturday, Nov. 20 at 10 am, the Santa Parade will feature a variety of floats, walkers, and of course, Santa! Children’s entertainer and Door County favorite, Randy Peterson will perform at the Clock Tower on Third Avenue immediately following the parade. Additional activities include visits with Santa and his reindeer at the Door County Historical Museum, hay wagon and trolley rides, and the children’s Christmas Store at Bay View Lutheran Church. The Jefferson Street shops’ Holiday Stroll and the annual Art Studio Crawl will both take place Saturday and Sunday from 10 am – 3 pm.

The Christmas by the Bay weekend wraps up Sunday with a Breakfast Buffet with Santa at Stone Harbor Resort from 9:30 am – 12 pm, the Door County YMCA’s Annual Folk Art Fair from 9 am – 3 pm, plus a Holiday Ornament Showcase and Family Activity Day at Door County Maritime Museum.

Additional upcoming holiday events include Holiday Kick-off, Angel Ball, the Bed and Breakfast Christmas Walk, and a special appearance by Santa on the Maritime Museum’s tug, the John Purves.
