Sturgeon Bay Powerlifters Advanced to State

On March 11 & 12, Sturgeon Bay High School’s powerlifting team participated in the WHSPA (Wisconsin High School Powerlifting Association) state championship at Racine’s Horlick High School. Sturgeon Bay qualified five lifters for the meet.

Placing fourth in the 165-lb. weight class was Nicolas Greenlaw, a senior, with a squat of 391 lbs., a bench press of 176 lbs. and the heaviest deadlift in his division of 463 lbs. In the 242-lb class Logan Narance, senior, placed sixth with a squat of 453 lbs., a bench press of 280 lbs., and a deadlift of 430 lbs. Taking seventh in the girl’s 165-lb division was Brenna Zuehlke, sophomore, with a squat of 353 lbs., a bench press of 138 lbs., and a deadlift of 325 lbs. Also taking seventh in the boys 198-lb. division was Luke Brinkman, junior, with a squat of 480 lbs., a bench press of 230 lbs., and a deadlift of 501 lbs. Taking 12th in the 242-lb. division was Nathan Leroy, junior, with a squat of 370 lbs., a bench press of 226 lbs., and a deadlift of 424 lbs.
