On June 20 at Sturgeon Bay Rotary’s luncheon meeting, Don Albert and Keith Mutchler, Rotary Shipyard Tour co-chairs, led the club in thanking four local shipbuilders and maritime service agencies for their participation in Rotary’s annual May tour event. Todd Thayse and Bill Behme of Bay Shipbuilding Company (Fincantieri Group) and Sue Hirsch and Carey Hale of Great Lakes Yacht Services were on hand to receive engraved vases as a token of the club’s appreciation. Palmer Johnson and the U.S. Coast Guard also participated.
The entry fees for the 865 people who toured the three shipyards this year provides major funding for Sturgeon Bay Rotary’s youth programs and scholarships. Rotary’s Shipyard Tour has traditionally been held the first Saturday in May.
