Sturgeon Bay School District Open House Nov. 30

The Sturgeon Bay School District will host an open house Nov. 30, 4-6 pm, following the completion of a referendum remodeling project. The open house will start at the high school with remarks from alumni, students and staff, and all schools will be open to the public for guided or self-guided tours to see the updates.

“By offering renovated facilities, we give our students, community and businesses the best opportunities to succeed,” said Superintendent Dan Tjernagel. “The existing high school was constructed over 50 years ago, and it’s been years since our other buildings have been updated. It came to a point where we needed to make changes for safety and security, as well as updating our buildings to safeguard our community’s investment.”

Changes include additions, revamped classrooms, improved safety and security, and ADA-compliant adaptations that reflect how students will collaborate, work and learn in the future. All buildings have improved plumbing, electrical, ventilation and computer-network upgrades as well.
