Sturgeon Bay School District Staff Come Together for Talent Show

Do you ever wonder what Sturgeon Bay School District teachers, school administrators and other staff members do after the kids go home? They sing, play music, act, paint and sculpt!

Employees of the Sturgeon Bay School District will present a faculty talent show and art exhibit at the Sturgeon Bay High School auditorium, (1230 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay) on Oct. 7 at 7 pm. The Clipper Faculty Talent Extravaganza will feature music, drama and spoken word performed by staff members, from teachers to administrators to custodians. In addition, art pieces created by staff members will be exhibited in the lobby. Refreshments will be served.

The organizer, teacher Patty McKinnon, said it began with a Sunday afternoon piano recital in the fall of 2015. McKinnon, Sturgeon Bay High School Principal Robert Nickel, and teacher Jennifer Hanson gave the recital, and had so much fun they agreed to do it again. In 2017, however, McKinnon wanted to open it up to other staff members with talent in the arts. This grew into the upcoming event which will serve as a fundraiser for Door County Medical Center.

The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be taken to benefit the children and family programs at Door County Medical Center. For more information, contact McKinnon at 920.746.3852 or [email protected].
