Sturgeon Bay Schools Participated in the Great Apple Crunch

The sixth annual Great Lakes regional Great Apple Crunch took place Oct. 10 across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. It was part of National School Lunch Week and National Farm-to-School Month, during which Sturgeon Bay schools offered locally grown apples, plums, cucumbers, pears, maple syrup, eggs and sometimes beef. In each school’s lunchroom on Oct. 10, all students and staff were offered an apple – donated by Lynn and Carolyn Keller – to partake in the Great Apple Crunch.
