Sturgeon Bay Students Learn About Energy

Students in Seth Wilson and Brian Pahl’s classes at Sturgeon Bay High School had the opportunity for hands on learning about energy, energy efficiency, conservation, and renewable energy.

The students learned the details of the schools 12 KW solar system, and they even got to investigate and take a ride in an all-electric car with the equivalent of 150 mpg fuel economy.

In addition, the students learned about higher education offerings of Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) and careers in these fields from John Hippensteel, an energy instructor at NWTC.

For individuals interested in more information on renewable energy, the National Tour of Solar Homes is Oct. 1. For a listing of sites visits http://www.midwestrenew.org/solartournortheast.
