Construction on Egg Harbor Road is scheduled to begin Oct. 13 and be completed Oct. 16, according to city engineer Tony Depies. The estimates given by Northeast Asphalt for the leveling of the existing road and the paving total $237,595.85.
In addition to this amount, the grinding of the asphalt, line painting, concrete pouring, driveway adjustments, engineering and traffic calming islands will bring the project to an estimated grand total of $372,715.85.
After construction is complete, the road will consist of two driving lanes and a center turn lane.
Construction for this fall does not include sidewalks or any type of raised or standout crosswalks. According to Depies, the islands in the center turn lane will help create safer pedestrian crossing.
