Sturgeon Bay’s Street Art Auction

Car glass, barn tin, concrete and cedar wood has been transformed into benches for Sturgeon Bay’s annual Street Art Auction presented by the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center and Associated Bank. The two-seat, straight back, templated cedar benches and unique freeform benches were upcycled into new life as part of the 18th annual Sturgeon Bay Street Art Auction, Benches by the Bay.

The Street Art Auction is held at the end of Harvest Fest, on Sept. 15 in Martin Park, 207 S. Third Ave. The evening kicks off with local band, Dow Jones, taking the stage at 3:30 pm. The live auction begins at 5 pm. Jan Scoville and Hervy Hodges will be the live auctioneers for the evening.

All 25 benches are now on display. Observe and learn more about each bench at sturgeonbay.net under the “Gallery” tab.

Bidding registration for the Street Art Auction begins at 4 pm. Auction programs are available at Martin Park the day of the auction and the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center. The purchase price is tax deductible and half of the auction proceeds goes to the artist, the other half goes to Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center for future public art and community projects. Cash, check, or credit cards are accepted for benches.

Absentee bids will be accepted for those unable to attend. Cast your absentee bid at sturgeonbay.net, call 920.743.6246 or stop by the Visitor Center at 36 S. Third Ave., Sturgeon Bay. All events are open to the public free of charge.
