Sturgeons Place Second at Brown Deer Brawl

The Sturgeons underwater hockey team placed second at the Brown Deer Brawl on Nov. 9 & 10.

Door County’s underwater hockey team, the Sturgeons, took second place in the Brown Deer Brawl Tournament on Nov. 9 & 10 at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Milwaukee. The team went undefeated in the first seven games of the two-day tournament, beating teams from the University of Illinois – Chicago, Michigan State University, two teams from Minnesota, and two teams from Ohio. They lost their final game against the also undefeated Swordfish from Atlanta, Georgia.

The Sturgeons practice at the Sturgeon Bay YMCA on Fridays at 6:30 pm and are welcoming new players. For more information about the team, visit their website at sbunderwaterhockey.com.
