Submissions Sought for 2013 Congressional Art Competition

Representative Reid Ribble will accept submissions for the 2013 Congressional High School Art Competition until April 5. The Artistic Discovery Contest is open to all high school students in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District.

The Neville Public Museum in Green Bay will display all submissions between April 27 and June 2. Winners and runner ups will be announced by Congressman Ribble at a reception on April 28.

The winner will be invited to attend a reception in Washington, D.C. for the unveiling of their work, which will hang in the Capitol complex for the next year. The three runners-up will have their artwork featured in one of Congressman Ribble’s offices.

“The Congressional Art Competition is a great way to showcase the talent and creativity of northeast Wisconsin’s youth,” said Ribble. “There are always so many incredible submissions, and I am looking forward to what the new crop of young artists in our district will produce this year.”

All entries must be original in concept, design and execution. Contestants may submit paintings, drawings, collage, prints, mixed media, computer generated art and photography. Artworks must be framed and include picture wire. They cannot be larger than 28 inches by 28 inches (including the frame) or exceed 4 inches in depth.
