Successful Athletic Mouthguard Day at Door County Dental Care

The 11th annual Free Athletic Mouthguard Day took place at Door County Dental Care (doorcountydentalcare.com) on June 27, when all area student-athletes were invited to receive a free, custom-fit, team-color-coordinated mouthguard. Volunteers and the entire clinic staff helped to facilitate the event at the clinic’s Sturgeon Bay offices. Lords Dental Studio of DePere also provided labor and materials.

“Mouthguards are an essential part of sports safety gear,” Dr. Regan Luders said, “and putting on this event aids in the prevention of unnecessary mouth and head injuries to the children and teenagers in our community. We appreciate families taking the time to bring their kids in to get fitted for their mouthguards.”

A new, custom-fit mouthguard should be crafted each year because mouth structure changes as young people grow.
