Successful Senior Health And Wellness Days At YMCA

After a three-year hiatus, the Door County YMCA, in partnership with Door County Medical Center (DCMC), brought back the annual Senior Health and Wellness Days. The event – which focuses on promoting health and wellness for a stronger, healthier community – was held at the Sturgeon Bay program center on May 31 and at the Kane Center in Fish Creek on June 1. 

Participants at both locations received a free lunch, and DCMC staff offered health screens such as for skin cancer, anxiety, depression and blood pressure. In addition, talks addressed colon health, tick bites, improved memory through sleep, weight loss and foot health, and the YMCA staff provided fitness classes geared toward seniors.
