On July 13 the Door County Medical Center (DCMC) and The Community’s Gardens will collaborate on an event called “Women With Spirit: An Evening of Outstanding Music.” The concert is for both men and women of all ages and will feature Sue Demel and Dorothy Scott with special guests Moriah Grahl, Julia Gomez and Marley Gigstead. The concert will be held at Door County Fire Company in Sturgeon Bay at 7 pm.

Demel has a singular voice: a rich, athletic, octave-hurtling instrument that purrs and growls, rocks the foundation and raises the roof. As a founding and current member of folk trio Sons of the Never Wrong, she tours nationally performing original, acoustic music.

Dorothy Scott has flowed effortlessly between genres achieving popularity in pop, folk, blues and alternative. Her live performance is passionate and real, fierce and funny, outspoken and vulnerable. The emotional honesty of Scott’s music, the disciplined fury of her musicianship and the force of her vocal delivery connects her to her audience with confidence and grace. Scott is also the co-producer of the popular “LEAP” The Human Kindness Project and will invite Marley Gigstead, Julia Gomez and Moriah Grahl from LEAP to perform songs from some of the great female voices from around the world.

This is a free concert, but a $15 donation is appreciated to support The Community’s Gardens is appreciated. For more information or to reserve a table call 920.493.5979.
