You may save a life through suicide-prevention training. Prevent Suicide Door County-Nathan Wilson Coalition invites the community to a free, one-hour training session on QPR (Question, Persuade and Refer) suicide prevention with certified QPR presenters Monica Nelson and Bonnie Connolly. It will be held May 1, 2:30-3:30 pm, in the Rock Island Room of the Door County Community Foundation in Sturgeon Bay.
QPR is an educational program consisting of three simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life. Just as people trained in CPR help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone at risk to get needed help. This training is appropriate for adults and older teens accompanied by a responsible adult.
