Summer Family Programs are Underway at Crossroads

Crossroads at Big Creek with celebrate Flag Day, June 14, with a hike to Big Creek in search of Blue Flag, a wild purple iris. At 11 am, hikers should meet at the Collins Learning Center to begin the search for the “flags.”

The Summer Family Programs are underway. During the three months of summer, Crossroads offers free family programs Monday through Thursday at 1:30 pm. Water will be the topics of the Family Programs on June 17 & 18. Monday, participants will explore Big Creek in search for aquatic creatures. Crossroads will supply the nets, but participants should wear shoes that can get wet.

The wonders of water will be explored on Tuesday with one of our most popular programs – Waterfest. Kids will receive a free T-shirt (youth size only) to wear while playing with water.

Crossroads is a donor supported learning preserve welcoming learners of all ages. Summer hours at the Collins Learning Center are 1:30 – 3:30 pm daily. The trails are always open and hikers are welcome to go off-trail to get in touch with nature. Pets are permitted if on leash and under control. For more information visit crossroadsatbigcreek.com.
