Summer Harvest Cherry Fest at Orchard Country Winery & Market

Orchard Country Winery & Market will host its 8th Annual Summer Harvest Cherry Fest on July 21 from 10 am – 5 pm.

Festivities include complimentary tasting of Orchard Country wines, local micro brews and farm market foods; guided winery tours – every hour from 10 am – 4 pm; jump rope and hula hoop contests; a scavenger hunt; horse-drawn wagon rides; live music by the Modern Day Drifters from 1 – 5 pm; and face painting and balloons by Happyness Clowns from 11 am – 4 pm.

One of the festival’s highlights is Orchard Country’s cherry pit spit competition, beginning at 11 am. The competition is open to all ages and prizes are awarded to the top contestants. A cherry pie-eating contest will also be held at 1:30 pm.

“Despite the smaller crop this year, we are still celebrating the tart Montmorency cherry. We have a large selection of products available and our festival is a fun way to spend time with family and friends,” says Erin Lautenbach, director of sales and finance.
