Summer Movie Series at The Clearing

Henry and Joan Timm have taught a popular movie class during The Clearing’s Winter Program for several years. Now they are offering a summer series.

The movies will be shown at the Jens Jensen Center every other Tuesday evening at 7 pm beginning July 15. There are five movies in the series. The price is $5 per movie or $20 for all five. Tickets will be available in advance at The Clearing or at the door. If you plan to purchase the entire series for $20, you will need to sign up and pay in advance at the Jensen Center.

The upcoming movie schedule includes:

• July 15, The Freshman, starring Marlon Brando and Matthew Broderick. In this wacky comedy, Brando parodies his own performance as the Godfather.

• July 29, Dave, starring Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver. Once upon a time in the White House…the way we wish it were.

• August 12, The Illusionist, starring Ed Norton and Paul Giamatti. Do you believe in magic? You will after seeing this film!

• August 26, Casanova, starring Heath Ledger and Jeremy Irons. In this beautifully photographed version set in 18th century Venice, Casanova meets his match.

• September 9, Finding Neverland, starring Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet. Depp, in yet another Academy Award-nominated performance, portrays James Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan.

Brief commentary will be provided before each movie.
