Summer Open House at Greco Gallery

Artwork by Lori Weir.

The artists of Greco Gallery, “an artistic boutique” on Sturgeon Bay’s Third Avenue, invite the public to an Artists Reception and Summer Open House on July 25, 5 – 8 pm. Meet some of the 17 member artists, view their work, and enjoy refreshments. There will be live music in the gallery’s courtyard, and artists painting en plein air, weather permitting. The reception will also introduce the work of new artists, painter Lori Weir and jeweler Kris Bungener.

Weir describes the style of her unique acrylic paintings as “neo-tribal.” Her work is brightly colored and features intricate patterns that are inspired by decorative motifs from different times and cultures.

Jewelry by Kris Bungener.

Bungener has spent most of her life loving and creating art, but making fine art jewelry is her newest creative outlet. She believes her self-taught jewelry making is an “avenue of release” for her “pent-up love of design.” Each piece is made one at a time, using a variety of chain types and elements from her collection of pearls, glass, small gemstones and vintage-style materials. “I add what color and bit of texture feels right,” says Bungener.

Greco Gallery is open 10 am – 5 pm Monday to Thursday; 10 am – 6 pm Friday and Saturday; and Sunday by chance. For more information call 920.743.5000 or visit grecogallerycoop.com.
