Sunset Concert Series Opens with Copper Box

The Peg Egan Performing Arts Center, a new outdoor amphitheatre in Egg Harbor (located on Church Street), will begin its Sunset Concert Series with Copper Box on Sunday, June 15 at 7 pm.

The music of Copper Box – a band that has received seven WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) nominations to date – is hard to classify into one musical genre. While they draw from rock, Tex-Mex, polka, country, blues and Zydeco music, their music comes across real and raw and all of their influences become one graceful, gritty sound.

Traveling around the US, playing festivals and music clubs, Copper Box’s live show and spontaneous combustions on stage started to make the headlines and ignited the “fire” for Copper Box to keep pushing on. One by one they are reaching new venues and new audiences of all ages and ethnic backgrounds that appreciate music. With each show and each CD that reaches a new listener, Copper Box is proving that the easy way to selling music is not always the best way.

Their most requested song, The Pink Floyd Polka (Comfortably Numb), just scratches the surface of their eclectic talents. Throughout their recordings they have found ways to redefine and expand their sound. As one music journalist commented, Copper Box is “as refreshing as a cool spring breeze blowing new life into a stuffy room…worth checking out!”

The Sunset Concert Series at The Peg Egan Performing Art Center is free to the public and sponsored by: The Village of Egg Harbor, The Egg Harbor Business Association, Leinenkugel’s and The Art of Music National Tours.
