Sunshine House to Expand Services with Sunflower Cottage

Sunshine House Inc. announces expanded services through Sunflower Cottage, scheduled to open late summer 2016. The Board of Directors of Sunshine House has decided to take a service that we are already providing, adult day care, and to expand that beyond those with developmental disabilities to include those with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, arthritis, stroke-related memory loss, cognitive impairment, the medically frail and seniors in general who are looking for a community to belong to.

The Sunshine House facility will be undergoing a four-phase series of construction and remodeling. Sunflower Cottage, the new Adult Enrichment Day Program, will be housed under the Sunshine House Inc. roof and will use some resources from the current program. The space, however, will be completely separate, including a separate entrance, kitchen, bathroom and activity center. It will be a homelike center where their clients can feel a high level of familiarity and comfort.
