Support Mental-Health Access for Youth

According to the National Alliance on Mental Health, one in five young people report that the pandemic has had a significant negative impact on their mental health.

STRIDE, a United Way program, works with local mental-health professionals and Door County’s public schools to offer additional mental-wellness resources to the community and schools. The ultimate goal is to provide one-to-one mental-health counseling to students – regardless of their location, socio-economic status and insurance limitations – in schools

STRIDE also works with a local art therapist to provide online and in-person empowerment opportunities through creativity and wellness education.

For the 2022-23 school year, STRIDE hopes to expand its efforts to accommodate the growing need for youth mental-health care. A donation of $65 covers one week’s worth of counseling for a local student.
