Support the Literary Arts at Edgewood’s Benefit Show

Edgewood Orchard Galleries’ final show of the season benefits Write On, Door County and includes images of reading, writing, or storytelling, such as “Writing Table with Tulips and Sunrise” by John Sayers. The opening reception will be held Sept. 26, 1 – 5 pm, and the benefit show will be on display Sept. 26 – Nov. 1, 10 am – 5 pm daily. Ten percent of gallery proceeds on all sales throughout the five-week show will be donated to Write On, Door County, which promotes writing and reading by means of workshops, classes, school clubs, senior center programs, readings and other events.

Children’s book illustrator Renée Graef is participating in the reception and will sign copies of a new book, T is for Time, that features her illustrations. Graef’s original artwork from the book will be available for sale.

Sept. 26 is also the opening of Edgewood Orchard’s 17th annual “Gifts from the Heart” show, featuring artwork especially good for gift giving. The show includes smaller paintings, stoneware crèche sculptures, glass snowmen, and handmade ornaments and notecards. The exhibit runs to the close of the gallery season on Nov. 1.

Refreshments will be served and the public is invited and encouraged to attend the Sept. 26 reception and benefit.
