Sustainability Strategies Shared at Next Climate Change Coalition Meeting

Making sustainable living interactive, easy and fun will be the subject for the Climate Change Coalition of Door County’s next program on Jan. 16 at 7 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in north Ephraim. Kathy Kuntz, executive director of Cool Choices, will be the speaker. The program is free and open to the public.

Cool Choices is a Wisconsin nonprofit that fosters voluntary reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. In the five years since its founding, Cool Choices has inspired more than 7,000 businesses and households to adopt sustainable practices that save more than $4 million annually. It uses an innovative game-based approach to inspire change and get people talking about their sustainability strategies. Cool Choices collaborates with businesses and public agencies to engage employees in sustainability practices, promoting changes at work and at home.

Kuntz has more than two decades of experience developing and implementing initiatives in energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable practices. She previously led Focus on Energy, Wisconsin’s energy efficiency and renewable energy program. Under her direction Focus on Energy exceeded its savings goals and deployed a number of cross-sector initiatives that provided deeper and broader customer engagement with efficiency. Kuntz has a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and a bachelor’s from the University of Minnesota.
