Door Peninsula Winery continued its commitment to philanthropy by making a donation of $2,186 to DOOR CANcer earlier this month at its annual Spring Fling event.

This year’s Miss Door County’s Outstanding Teen Sophia Pollman, whose father and grandparents own Door Peninsula Winery, presented the check to DOOR CANcer’s vice president Barb Herdina before a capacity crowd at Stone Harbor Resort and Conference Center in Sturgeon Bay.

The money was raised as a result from the sales of the winery’s Sweet Survivor wine – a special bottling of its flagship Sweet Cherry wine. With every purchase, the winery sets aside $1 toward DOOR CANcer, in its aim to help families who are struggling to cope with a relative battling cancer.

Since the Sweet Survivor campaign was launched, the winery has donated more than $6,000 in the last four years.
