Sweetie Pies announced its fifth annual “High Roller” Art Contest, taking place from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
“We are looking for three-dimensional variations on the theme of a rolling pin,” said Sweetie Pies co-owner Renny Lea. “In preceding years we have had life-size rolling pins that were decorated or engraved, wire and willow pieces, wearable art – even a motorcycle handlebar pin complete with windshield!”
Local artists and craftspeople are asked to submit their work to Sweetie Pies located at the Settlement Shops near Fish Creek during the month of May. “The work is displayed in our shop and everyone is encouraged to vote for their favorite piece,” explained Lea. “On Labor Day we take a tally and announce the winners at our annual picnic.” The work will be on display through October and can, at the discretion of the artist, be put up for silent auction.
Entry forms and contest rules can be found at local artists’ or kitchen supply shops in the area the first week of April. Forms can also be downloaded from http://www.doorcountypies.com. For more information call 920.868.2743.
