Symphonic Band Begins Rehearsals

The Peninsula Symphonic Band will begin rehearsals for its Summer 2019 season Monday, April 1 at 7 pm at Sturgeon Bay High School.

Music Director, Jason Palmer, has chosen some fun and challenging selections which will be performed at concerts in May and July. PSB will perform a concert on May 20 focusing on water-themed music as part of the Celebration of Water.

“The Peninsula Symphonic Band is a community band which welcomes high school and adult musicians,” noted Palmer. “There are no auditions; interested musicians are welcome to just come and enjoy playing.”

The band is seeking instrumentalists in all sections and particularly in need of clarinet, tenor saxophone and baritone saxophone players.

Palmer is the founder and former principal conductor of the Fox Valley Philharmonic Orchestra in Aurora, Illinois. He recently retired to Door County along with his wife, Jamie.
