Talented Teens Compete for Door County Idol

(Left to right) Dominique Bowers, Genevieve Pelrine, Katie Glabe, Alix Boettcher, Luke Spude, and Bjorn Kettering will compete for the title of Door County Idol.

Live from Southern Door Auditorium on Jan. 5 comes Door County Idol. Modeled after the poplar reality competition, American Idol – minus Ryan Seacrest’s dramatic pauses, Simon Cowell’s sour attitude, and Steven Tyler’s distracting hair – the event features six talented teens with incredible pipes. Luke Spude, Dominique Bowers, Katie Glabe, Bjorn Kettering, Alix Boettcher, and Genevieve Pelrine will take to the stage individually and collectively to showcase their musical abilities.

Performances by 2012 Door County Idol runner-up, Trevor Hietpas, and 2012 Steel Bridge Songfest winner, Brittany Hallett, will also take place.

Judges of this year’s competition include Door County favorite Dorothy Scott, known for her daring performances and amazing guitar playing; broadcaster Nic Freimuth, who returns as a judge for the fourth time; and Dr. James Hiese, a doctor at Ministry Door County Medical Center and fan of a variety of musical genres.

The performances will begin at 7 pm. Southern Door Auditorium is located at 2073 Country Road DK in Brussels. For more information call 920.825.7311 or visit http://www.southerndoorauditorium.org.
